JDRF – First on the Front Lines in the Battle Against T1D

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, and for Hermoza, awareness is just a start.

With Change the Game, we are partnering up with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to minimize the complications and discomfort for those living with Type 1 Diabetes. JDRF has had decades Another of JDRF’s goals is to continue to raise funds enabling researchers to investigate and follow advances in education and research.

Their singular focus is to fund efforts to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its life-threatening complications. Those living with T1D must constantly monitor blood glucose levels and must manually intervene when levels get too high or too low. Injections and infusions, along with proper diet, nutrition, and exercise are a great offense, but T1D causes imbalances that make life-threatening situations even more terrifying. Kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, blindness, and amputation are all potential effects of T1D; with JDRF on their team, families can rest a little easier.

By raising funds for research, advocating for government support, accelerating the process of access for treatments, therapies, and supplies, and creating and maintaining a supportive community for families affected by T1D diagnoses, JDRF’s continued aim is to understand and fight a disease that has no known cure.

And the foundation does not just stop at research. Named one of Forbes magazine’s “All-Star” charities, JDRF is a financially efficient organization that knows no limits when it comes to supporting others in reducing stigma, redirecting assumptions, offering voice and perspective, and initiating conversations for a community that can, at times, feel isolated and forgotten. Local chapters, workshops, community forums, in-person summits, advocacy efforts (including the JDRF Children’s Congress), as well as corporate, celebrity, and retail partnerships, are all engaged in JDRF’s massive effort to find life-changing breakthroughs in Type 1 Diabetes treatments and therapies.

Every dollar counts in this effort to make resources and care available to those living with T1D, and with Hermoza, your dollar means more. To say thank you, we’re hosting a giveaway. Everyone who participates in this campaign will be entered for a chance to win end zone field seat tickets to the Oakland Raiders/Los Angeles Chargers game on December 22, 2019 and the opportunity to meet Philip Rivers.
