Feed the Children & Your Spirit

Feed the Children & Your Spirit

Sitting in self-isolation or quarantine and watching the news might have you battling the stir crazies, but Hermoza is here to help. When tragedy and uncertainty strike, we feel the best inspiration comes from our faith. Ease your heart and mind with these words from Saint Padre Pio:

“Pray, hope, and don’t worry. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”

And to soothe your spirit…

Hermoza has always been a brand about action. Here is one of our favorite ways to help others from the comfort of your own couch.

Making food and essentials possible should be at the forefront of our crisis response and while many of us were raised to think of the help we can offer overseas, Feed the Children concentrates the majority of its efforts nationally. It aims to help minimize the struggles families face when the basics become challenging to obtain.

Most families living paycheck to paycheck do not have the comfort of an emergency savings account to help them manage situations presented by COVID-19. Economic uncertainty and the looming social concerns of maintaining caution to provide safety and security to others can seem unmanageable without a safety net.

For some children, having daily access to food from community programs has been drastically affected by school closures. In vulnerable communities, many adults have lost employment and are now waiting in long lines to receive assistance. Children should never see their families facing this depth of uncertainty.

As a result of global instability, community kitchens and food banks have endured a drastic increase in the number of families they are serving each week. FTC is working tirelessly to make bulk items available to those organizations who are on the front lines of serving those in need. Their efforts now include door-to-door home delivery and drive-through food and essentials pick up, easing the burden so no child or individual with a high risk of contracting COVID-19 ever worries about having a meal.

Feed the Children’s corporate partners help extend the scope of their efforts. NASCAR, StarKist, Herbalife Nutrition, Tyson Foods, Niagara Bottling, KIND Snack, Clif Bar & Company, Avon, Office Depot, Fab Fit Fun, Mattel, Frito Lay, and countless others have joined the mission of providing supportive services to those who need it the most.

This message from Travis Arnold, President and CEO of Feed the Children, warms our hearts and inspires us to partner alongside the organization to offer our support:

“I also hope you will rally with our neighbors across the country to practice kindness, decency, and civility whenever possible. I know it's alarming and it's easy to feel helpless but in each of our communities, there are opportunities to practice kindness. It may be something small like checking on elderly neighbors or buying gift cards from local businesses. For some people, it means staying at home to help minimize risk. There is no act of kindness too small. Let's be good to one another.

Thank you for all that you do to help the most vulnerable. Please stay safe and know that all of you are in my prayers during this crisis.”

In Feed the Children, we couldn’t ask for a better, more focused cause! Their efforts include more than food distribution. Their organization also employs efforts in vulnerable communities that include education to encourage active citizenship, proper sanitation and hygiene reinforcement, as well as business and financial management skills building so families can better support themselves.

Organizations like FTC remind us that we are all in this together. To do our part, Hermoza is offering 30% off sitewide, including sales items! Additionally, 5% of will be donated to Feed the Children to help ease their burden as they care for struggling families and those most affected by COVID-19.
