Hermoza’s Fall 2021 is a feel good celebration of enduring glamour and unabashed optimism. Through embracing the cross section of erstwhile design and sophisticated femininity, we built a collection that embodies soft allure and pulls from the true, lasting beauties of life. It is a collection of feminine genius, of Southern sanguinity.
We began by dotting rich colors amongst warm neutrals to capture a timeless joie de vivre – an ethos reminiscent of Slim Aaron’s era luxury but placed squarely present for the modern muse. We fashioned textures, silhouettes and details that at once intend to provide a breath of fresh air and a gust of vintage reverie. Blooming embroidery, polished plaids, and sumptuous jacquard stand as balanced updates to our mainstay of wearable elegance, of new classics. We imagine this first array of pieces to be emblematic of Autumn in the American South. It’s posh and proper color scheme, clean lines and playful pleats feel reminiscent of polo matches, straw hats and afternoon tea. It is a dosage of beauty in concert with luxury, an ode to all things proper.
The arc of this season then moves gently onward to soft pastels, bright colors and bold prints – all crystalized notions of the carefree positivity and abundance this world has to offer. Textured ruching, sun bleached color theory and crisp linens intend to remind wearers of the glowy freedom time spent seaside or poolside endows. We’re reminded of the warmth, the hug of humidity and the honey glow of the Southern sunshine. There’s a way the sun hits painted shutters, pavement and picket fences age as you venture further South – the bleachy crispness holds color in a way that is hard to find anywhere else. In our neutral blues, delicate patterns and stitched embroidery, we aimed true toward the homespun, weathered, soft energy one only need journey Southbound to know.
As we rounded out the collection, we found ourselves celebrating one of the very Southernmost jewels of our country – the Florida keys. We played with botanical elements, soft peaches, neutral greens, and poppy jewel tones in geometric and organic patterns to celebrate the tropical beauty of the American South. The crystal waters of the keys are the perfect stage for crisp eyelet coverage, playful pastels and effortless glamor. This collection’s rich emeralds, cheerful marigolds and saccharine apricots are the backdrop and framework in which we flew South for the season.
Our iconic styles updated for the collection had us returning to the expression “Home sweet Hermoza”, an adage that rings most true to our latest works. In designing, we turned inward - pulling the colors, patterns and essences
most true to our roots and reveries - and then outward through creating pieces we are overjoyed to share.
From start to finish, each dainty detail in this collection is an ode to Southern Beauty. Each piece intends to grace it’s wearer with the barefoot, sun kissed optimism, the love of life and simple joy that is the truest threadwork of Southern sensibility. Our hope is to remind you of that beauty as you venture toward the opening world, and go where it’s warm, again and again.
